Sustainment and Upgrades

GLSV supports the sustainment, modernization, and spare parts markets for defense ground vehicle, US Navy, and aerospace programs with our vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing. We manage obsolescence with our reverse-engineering capabilities. GLSV supplies components to DLA and other sustainment contract holders for the US DOD and our allies.

Shock Absorbers

Great Lakes Sound and Vibration has been selected by DLA Land and Maritime to manufacture, test, and supply shock absorbers for the M88A2 HERCULES Recovery Vehicle, M113 Armored Personnel Carriers, and the M60 Combat Tank. These shocks are attached to the vehicle hull and connected to an axle or between suspension arms of the recovery vehicle. (2510016212974, 2510001795526, 2510014114866)

Submergence Check Valves

GLSV was selected by DLA Land and Maritime to supply submergence check valves for the US Army M60 Series Tank. The M60 Series is a fully tracked, diesel tank that has a long service history with many variants including Main Battle Tanks (MBT), Armored Recovery Vehicles (ARV), and Armored Vehicle-Launch Bridges (AVLB). NSN# 2990-01-156-6225 is part of the main diesel exhaust system of the M60s. GLSV is a proud supplier to DLA and will continue to support their land vehicle and maritime efforts.

Piping Assemblies

GLSV reverse engineered the fuel distribution piping for the M967 Tank Trailer. The customer sent a used piping system and we scanned the components, developed a Technical Data package, and built prototypes.

Aircraft Exhaust Ducts

GLSV designed, prototyped, and now produces custom exhaust ducts for the Rolls-Royce M250 helicopter engine. With the design of a complicated flange and some intricate welding, GLSV worked hand in hand with the end user to develop a custom solution.

Exhaust Ejectors

GLSV was selected by DLA Land and Maritime to supply spare exhaust ejectors for the M60 AVLB (Armored Vehicle Launch Bridge).

This armored bridge layer was designed to launch bridges for tanks and other wheeled combat vehicles across trenches and water obstacles in combat conditions. These particular exhaust ejectors, NSN 2990011461877, are utilized in scavenge air systems for diesel engines.

B-52 Duct Assembly

Aircraft Duct Assemblies

GLSV was contracted by Defense Logistics Agency to build and test a duct assembly for the B-52 Stratofortress. This long-range, jet-powered, strategic bomber has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s for nearly 50 years.

Aircraft Outlet Assemblies

GLSV has been contracted by DLA to supply duct outlet assemblies for the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Originally designed for the USAF, the F-16 is a single engine supersonic aircraft is the world’s most common fixed-wing aircraft in military service, having been procured by the air forces of 25 other nations.

GLSV supplies The United States armed forces with duct and piping assemblies for the F-5F aircraft. The F-5F variant is an upgraded lightweight model of the original F-5 supersonic fighter aircraft

Potable Water Tank Production

Potable Water Tanks

GLSV was selected by DLA Land and Maritime to supply trailer mounted water tanks. These stainless-steel tanks hold 400 gallons of potable water and are used to distribute drinking water to field operating units. The tanks mount directly to the M107 Water Buffalo Trailer and can be towed by the MTVR (Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement) Family of Vehicles. Ground Vehicle Exhaust Systems

GLSV was selected by DLA Land & Maritime to supply spare exhaust mufflers for the HMMWV M998 vehicle fleet. Since the mid-1980s the high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle has been America’s tactical workhorse, in service around the world. GLSV is honored to be a key supplier to DLA, and we will supply exhaust spares through this Indefinite Delivery Contract for the next three to five years.
