GLSV contracted to help re-design and build high-performance exhaust ducting for the Navy’s fully amphibious, high-speed hovercraft. (Landing Craft Air Cushion, LCAC)

Great Lakes Sound and Vibration has been awarded the opportunity to re-design and build the exhaust ducting for the auxiliary power unit (APU) on the US Navy’s Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC).

The LCAC is a hovercraft used by the US Navy and the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) to transport weapons systems, equipment, and personnel from ship to shore and to traverse the beach. Its four main engines are used for lift and main propulsion, while the APUs provide the craft with electrical power.
