GLSV Awarded Contract to Supply MDG and EDG Exhaust Silencers for U.S. Navy’s T-AGOS Program.

Great Lakes Sound & Vibration has been awarded a contract to design and manufacture Main Diesel Generator (MDG) and Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) exhaust silencers for the U.S. Navy’s TAGOS ocean surveillance ship program.

The TAGOS fleet plays a critical role in U.S. Navy undersea surveillance operations, supporting the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) with advanced acoustic sensing capabilities. These vessels operate in demanding acoustic environments where lownoise signatures are essential for mission performance.

Building on its proven track record supplying customengineered exhaust silencing systems for multiple Navy ship classes, GLSV will deliver MDG and EDG silencers tailored to the TAGOS program’s stringent airflow, durability, and acousticattenuation requirements. GLSV’s silencers are engineered for harsh marine environments and manufactured in accordance with strict naval welding and quality standards.

The TAGOS program includes the Navy’s newest TAGOS25 Explorerclass ships, designed to provide stable, lownoise platforms for towedarray sonar operations. These vessels are operated by the Military Sealift Command and serve as critical assets in antisubmarine warfare data collection.

GLSV’s contribution of MDG and EDG silencing systems will support the Navy’s longterm modernization efforts and ensure that the TAGOS fleet continues to meet evolving acoustic performance standards.
