GLSV AWARDED US NAVY SBIR FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AN EFFICIENT ACOUSTIC COUNTERMEASURE DEPTH CONTROL SYSTEM

GLSV received a US Navy Phase-I SBIR to develop an efficient depth control system for an acoustic device countermeasure (ADC). The ADC is a countermeasure device utilized by US Navy submarines to act as a decoy in the event of an enemy torpedo attack. The ADC has an acoustic signature that mimics a submarine to misdirect adversarial torpedoes away from the submarine. A new, innovative depth control mechanism will minimize energy consumption to enable increased performance (duration and SPL) of the acoustic source on the ADC during missions.
