Acoustic Test Facility Complete
Great Lakes Sound
& Vibration (GLSV) has completed
construction of a full vehicle
hemi-anechoic chamber.
An onsite facility for conducting
acoustic testing in a controlled
environment enhances GLSV capabilities
to provide creative solutions to noise
and vibration issues. The hemi-anechoic
cell includes a 1000 W broadband noise
source capable of accurately reproducing
any recorded sound. This is especially
useful for optimizing vehicle components
such as mufflers and air intakes among
others. An eddy current dynamometer will
be integrated with cell to provide an
excellent facility for powertrain NVH
studies.
