Dynamic/kinematic  modeling is a powerful tool useful in a variety of engineering and design studies.  GLSV uses dynamic models both in support of product design, whether it be as simple as validating motion and avoiding stick points and collisions of linkages or as complicated as estimating engine balance.  Dynamic modeling tools make functional studies possible based on virtual geometry.
